13 Tips How to Motivate Your Team

People are the main and most important resource of a company. Motivation to work to get the best out of the job is one of the most important components of an employee’s daily routine.

Employee motivation has become the fastest growing research direction in the overall study of the motivation phenomenon. Incomplete or poor knowledge is not always the reason why an employee becomes hesitant or careless. A demotivated employee will not be productive, so it is important to take care of your employees and help them stay motivated.

Tips to motivate your employees:

  1. Don’t think you always know better what your employees need. Ask them instead!   3. Don’t let your employees get bored. Many people lose their motivation to do tasks that are constantly repeated. In a 1990 study, psychologist Edwin A. Locke and professor Gary P. Latham demonstrated that employees are motivated by challenging and customized tasks. So try to change their job tasks and responsibilities.   11. Get to know about employee outside work activities. It’s also important to get to know your employees in person. Of course, you do not have to know every single detail of their lives, but knowing at least the employee’s main hobbies would be very helpful and important for a more successful collaboration and mutual trust.
  12. A good employee deserves a decent salary. Evaluate your team fairly. Salary has always been a universal motivator, thanks to the public perception of money as one of the main indicators of success.
  13. Do not control every employee step. Employees must also be given freedom of expression. It is very important to trust that the employee will do his job well. Of course, it must be understood that there can be various failures, but they should also be corrected by the employee, with the help of management.

For team motivation to work effectively, it is desirable to recruit those who believe in the values of a particular company and support them. If the employee does not like the company’s product or service, he is unlikely to be able to successfully present it to a wider audience.
